Genderational Relations

A lifetime of men who couldn’t see who I was

because a lifetime of women
blinded them and shamed their broken hearts

because another lifetime of men
couldn’t see who they were

and on and on it goes

while I lie awake in the dark
so alone

wondering about the women
my shame has left
my own boy blind to

because a lifetime of men couldn’t see who I was.
