Life Blooms Again

I walked outside with my eyes
and my heart open
to discover that
In spite of all the neglect and death
I’ve been focused on around here,
my flowers bloomed again,

the hummingbirds came back to drink sweet nectar,

Sarge is still standing tall,

Tim (Burr) came back to life,

and some new beauty showed up that wasn’t here before

….reminding me that life continues to bloom
and offer new treasures
everywhere, just waiting to be seen
if I keep my eyes and heart open to them.

There is life, and reasons to keep looking, hoping, dreaming.
    Thanks CJ

I heard a great quote on Hunger Games (the movie that’s out right now) The president said to another man “The only thing that’s stronger than fear is hope.”

I don’t know if you’ve seen the movie, but his character was telling the other character if they wanted to force obedience from the ranks, all they actually had to do was round up 24 people and execute them every year.

But instead, they held the Hunger Games because the hope for survival kept the game alive and the people coming back.

That concept has been heavy on my mind; it’s why we keep living in the face of everything, isn’t it…because Life continues to bloom around us even when we know how it’s going to end. In the meantime, we have hope that we enjoy what time we have here.

I (we) are struggling to get to the state of appreciating things around us. The struggles of now, often mask the blooming of hope that occurs around us. It is an inner filter that needs to be changed. But only if the owner wants to change.
